Mike Borozdin's Blog

A blog about programming, web and IT in general

About Me

Hello. I’m Mike Borozdin. I live in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. I’m a software developer who develops websites mostly, the web has been my passion since I’d got an Internet connection.  I remember I was playing with different WYSIWYG editors, and then I picked up HTML and learnt JavaScript and moved towards server side programming.

Actually I’ve been programming since I was 12 when I was learning C/C++ because I wanted to write games. Yeah! I wanted to start a company that would make computer games because this business seemed to be very profitable and I thought I’d become a multi-millionaire with that:).

I'm taking a Master's in Informatics in the University of Edinburgh, before I studied in the Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University (yes, the university names tend to be very long in Russia) and received two Bachelor's degree - in Computer Science and in Management.

I’m a Microsoft Student Parner speaker of the Microsoft User Group of my university and a member of some other user groups and online communities. I enjoy telling people about great technologies and products.

Regarding my personal life and interests besides computers and the Internet, I’m a huge music fan who enjoys many musical styles from classic rock and alternative to flamenco and avangarde jazz. I’m learning to play a classical guitar, but I’m not a great guitarist:). I enjoy cinema classics and art house films. I love travelling to different countries and enjoy Formula 1 and other kinds of autosport.
